Any court ruling under the lawsuit filed by X5 Retail Group against the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) will play in favor of the suppliers' defense, the head of FAS's social services and trade control department, Timofei Nizhegorodtsev said. According to him, if FAS wins, it will create a judicial practice and discipline X5 and other large retailers. If FAS loses, the Russian government will have an additional incentive for the adoption of the trade act, which would imply additional measures on the control and regulation of legal relationships between suppliers and retailers.
