July 22. Russian president, Dmitry Medvedev warned the governors that if they do not fulfill their parts of the gasification program, they will face "administrative and organizational measures" . "If administrative or organizational measures are necessary, we will take them. Russian citizens shall not suffer due to the sluggishness of some regional executives", Medvedev said Monday at a meeting with Gazprom's head, Alexei Miller. In his turn, Miller told Medvedev about the progress in the Russian gasification program, being jointly fulfilled by Gazprom and constituent entities of the Russian Federation. He said that there were some leading regions, which were even ahead of the plan, as well as those falling behind. "We earlier faced lack of financing, but this time has passed, and we currently may speak of some organizational defects", he said. Miller pledged that Gazprom would take all the necessary steps to bring those regions falling behind, in terms of gasification, to the appropriate level. Medvedev also declared the necessity to go on with the gasification program and suggested paying special attention to the Far East.
