July 17. Deputy Chairman of Gazprom Alexander Ananenkov and General Director of Beltransgaz Vladimir Mayorov addressed execution of contract on gas supply in 2007-2011 at the working meeting in Moscow on Wednesday. Gazprom said in a press release that the meeting focused on the need of full payment for current Russian gas supplies to Belarus in strict compliance with the terms of the agreement. Ananenkov pointed out that “in the event of further non-execution of obligations concerning full payment for Russian gas by the Belarus party, Gazprom leaves the right to appeal to court”, the press release stated. In addition, it was stressed that in line with the contract, effective 2008 the price of gas for the republic will be calculated using the price formula which is the most comfortable in Gazprom’s supplies to CIS countries and Europe, according to the press release.
