July 17. US oil inventories grew in the week ending July 11, the Energy Information Agency reported. According to EIA data, oil stockpiles in the country jumped 3 mn bbl to 296.9 mn bbl. Gasoline reserves climbed 2.4 mn bbl to 214.2 mn bbl, distillates increased by 3.2 mn bbl to 125.7 mn bbl. Based on data from the American Petroleum Institute (API), US oil stockpiles rose 5.1 mn bbl in the week ending July 11 to 303.68 mn bbl, while gasoline stocks increased 1.6 mn bbl to 214.97 mn bbl.
